I can't believe we've been in Michigan for nearly 8 weeks and I've only managed to squeeze in a couple of posts. What on earth have I been doing with my time????
.
Oh, yeah...pretty much single-mothering it; the sole source of food, fun, baths, bedtime stories, and everything else necessary to satisfy the demands of, um, The Princess. (Tongue in cheek, she's really not one of THOSE girls). Don't get me wrong. My mom is a great, great, great (and patient) source of help. But when you're the mom, you're the mom, and Dad is still 1,600+ miles away.
.
So, I've been busy doing other things and blogging hasn't been one of them. Instead, we had a birthday to celebrate. Kat turned....drum roll, please....SIX! I have no idea how that happened - a sentiment echoed by every parent every time a birthday rolls around. Time is flying.
.
Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures from the actual party. Not that I didn't take any, of course, but because the weather was so hot that day at the cottage, she celebrated in her underpants. Yeah. Not exactly blog-friendly photos. We did, however, have another party with a couple of her Michigan girl friends when we came back from Northport. Everyone stayed dressed for that one.
.
Happy Birthday, my sweet girl. I love you with every ounce of my heart and soul!

With love from The Motherland.

That sure is one cute birthday girl!
Indeed, she is!
